United Volunteers Thrift Store

So after blogging about Ibotta last weekend and the positive response I got from that, I've decided to have Recommendation Weekend on my blog. I will blog on either Saturday or Sunday with a recommendation. It could be a website, a store, a book, a destination, an event, a restaurant, anything!

This week: United Volunteers Thrift Store located in Provo, Utah. This store is less than a year old and is owned by dear friends of our family. I have known these people for pretty much forever and they are one of the greatest families I have ever known.

Their thrift store is a not-for-profit organization and they do a lot of good in the world - some donated items are even sent to third world countries. I have worked at their St. Louis area shops doing temp work and I have many friends who have worked for them at various times as well (including my brother).

Anyway, about the thrift store: It is spacious and has a lot of nice things. A lot of clothes and toys and other things that are found at second hand stores. It is less crowded than Deseret Industries and has better furniture too. It is my thrift store of choice!

Anyway, I encourage you to check out their website and their facebook page. "Liking" their facebook page will get you lots of brownie points in my book.

Also, if you are in the area, check out the thrift store! And if you have things to donate, take them over to United Volunteers. (Deseret Industries gets plenty of donations - pick this place next time). Oh! And did I mention they will pick up your donations from your house??? We did this back when we were moving and getting rid of a lot of things. It was so nice to have someone else load it up and take it away for a second life.

Anyway....that is this week's recommendation.
