Stories From My Childhood: My brother Chip

My brother Chip left on his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints two weeks ago. He is currently in the Missionary Training Center in Provo (up the road from my house). Once his training is over, he'll be heading to Manaus, Brazil (assuming his visa actually arrives). In honor of my baby brother (who is obviously not a baby anymore) here a a story about him from his (and my) childhood. (Side note: Chip - I mean Elder Denton - doesn't remember this story)

I remember going to Mystic Sea Port on vacation as a family. They had this room with toys and games for kids to play with. One of the games was this puzzle with two pieces and the object was to disconnect the pieces from each other. Mom, Rachel and I were fascinated with this puzzle because we couldn't figure it out for the life of us. We spent a ridiculous amount of time and energy on something we shouldn't have even cared about in the first place. Chip wanted a turn. We thought it was silly that he wanted to try. If the three of us couldn't figure it out, how would a little 10 (?) year old be able to do it. But of course we gave him a look at it (more so he could see how difficult the puzzle was than anything else.) About 10 seconds later, Chip had solved the puzzle. What? Huh? How could that have happened? We spent, like, forever on it and made NO progress and Chip can do it in 10 seconds? He must have cheated. Nope. He's just amazingly smart like that.
