Las Vegas

Saturday night we got back from our trip to Las Vegas. It was sooooo much fun. Last year when we went to Vegas we tried to fit as much into the days as possible to get the most out of our trip. And while last year was TONS of fun and we have no regrets about burning the candle at both ends, we didn't want the same thing this year. This year was much more relaxed with more hanging out and less going out and doing and seeing.

Highlights from the trip include:
*Hitting 16 weeks in our pregnancy - the baby is now the size of an avacado and we have named her Avril-cado Lavigne for the week.
*Spending a night at the 5 star Trump tower hotel on the 40-something floor on the 4th of July. Looking out of our room you could see fireworks being set off all over the city.
*Going to the Trump Tower Pool - it was such a nice relaxing atmosphere.
*Eating at the Breakfast Buffet at Terribles Casino - cost $2 a person and was actually quite tasty. Even saw a drunk man told to leave by a cop.
*Spending 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel in their new Suites Tower. Our room was HUGE - bigger than our first apartment by A LOT!
*Going to the Hard Rock Pool. It's HUGE and has sand beach parts and is almost like a water park.
*Spending 2 nights at Circus Circus. (It's not the nicest of hotels, but it did just fine and was super cheap AND came with 2 free buffets for each of us at some of the nicer buffets in Vegas.)
*Playing the carnival games in Circus Circus and winning several stuffed animals (I'm addicted to plush toys) including 2 giraffes that look just like the giant giraffe I got last year so now I have a little giraffe family.
*Order room service at the Hard Rock - we can cross that off our bucket list now.
*Going to the Coke store and sampling 16 different flavors of Coke from different parts of the world. Some tasted really good. One tasted like cough syrup. And a few weren't even carbonated and just tasted like tea.
*Going to Freemont street and seeing the light show thing they have there.
*Getting our picture taken with a million dollars at Benion's Casino.
*Winning $1000 on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Vacation: paid for. Ryan really got lucky. There's nothing more to it than luck but we are very happy.

Not so great parts that really just made the trip more memorable than anything:
*Getting locked out of our room at the Trump tower because the electronic key thing didn't have enough battery power to read our key (or something like that.)
*Battery on the car dying to the point of needing a new one. Ryan is awesome and was able to buy a battery at Auto Zone and switch it out in the parking lot. (Irony - the car battery on the other car needed a jump yesterday. We aren't having the best of luck with batteries lately.)

Anyway....that's our trip.

Pictures and fun quotes to come.
