Indivisible

Indivisible by Kristen Heitzmann is a novel about a Police Chief Jonah Westfall. He investigates the mutilation of a couple of raccoons and wants to solve the mystery before anything escalates. He encounters Tia Manning whom he knows from childhood and conflict ensues.

I personally did not like this book at all. The author is trying way too hard to sound intelligent and sophisticated but it just comes out sounding all wordy and confusing. Adding all of the flowery words hides what is actually happening in the story leaving me feeling like I am in a novel of weeds instead of beautiful flowers.

The story-line is a good one, but it is extremely difficult to understand what is happening when it takes an entire page to say something simple. It felt like I was back in fifth grade learning about extra information in word problems and I have to figure out which bit of information is unimportant. I do not recommend this book unless you also enjoy reading Isaiah from the Bible.

*I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review*
