August's Menu

So...pausing from the "normal" blog schedule...today I am posting my family's dinner menu for the month of August. Usually I only make out the menu a week at a time, but today I was thinking about food and decided to make the whole month's menu. Usually Friday's are listed as Schwan's because we just started getting their food deliveries and have a few freezer meals of theirs ready to go. I put it on the menu once a week because something is always messing up the menu and making it so we eat out or we are with friends/family, etc. This is the meal that gets cut out of the menu and reused a different week because there are no fresh ingredients to worry about. This list starts on this past Monday and runs through the end of the month.

Mon 4 - Salad (and I don't mean some lame crap - we go all out - lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cilantro, cottage cheese, cheese, croutons, bacon bits, apple slices, raisins, goldfish, ranch, jalapenos, chicken or salmon, hard boiled eggs, fresh corn, etc)
Tues 5 - Chips and Homemade Salsa (Ryan makes kick-butt homemade salsa)
Wed 6 - Long story...don't ask...we ended up getting fast food
Thurs 7 - Pork Loin and cheddar broccoli soup
Fri 8 - Canned Chili over rice with peas (An easy meal, but we like it and the kids eat it really, really, really well.)
Sat 9 - Date night out to eat
Sun 10 - BBQ with friends (we are bringing cake salad)

Mon 11 - Pot luck with family (we are bringing cake salad)
Tues 12 - Stir Fry

Sat 23 - Pizza take-out
Sun 24 - Crock pot Pork Roast

Mon 25 - Homemade Pizza
Tues 26 - Berringers (a brain-child of Ryan and myself - it's a really yummy gourmet grilled cheese sandwich that I can't tell you about or else I'd have to invite you over for dinner)
