Last night, Ryan and I had to opportunity to see a special pre-screening of About Time. I wanted to take the time to blog about it and tell everyone that they should see it too! It was really good. Ryan liked it a lot too (so guys, yes, you should see it as well.)
The movie is about Tim, who learns that the men in his family have the ability to time travel. They can only travel to moments they remember from their own personal history. Tim uses this ability to get a girlfriend. I don't want to give away too much of the movie, and writing summaries and reviews isn't what I'm best at writing. But what you need to know is: GO SEE THIS MOVIE! I absolutely loved it! The characters were realistic and very well developed. The themes of the movie were love, family and appreciating life. It's a movie that everyone can relate to and the final message of the film is profound (in my opinion).
Imagine if you had the ability to go back in time. In the movie, Tim uses his abilities to go back and re-pick his best man for his wedding to avoid a horrible best-man speech. What would you want to change from your life? That time you said something stupid in a job interview? That time you spilled spaghetti all over yourself on a date?
The movie has a great balance between comedy and love. It's definitely classified as a "click flick" but it's not so lovey-dovey that a guy wouldn't enjoy it - especially with such universal themes.
The movie comes out November 8. Go see it!
