Once, after coming home from a business trip, my dad brought home a giant bag of M&Ms for us kids. He gave me the bag and said that I was in charge of dividing up the m&ms fairly. In the words of Barney Stinson: Challenge Accepted. I opened up the bag and got to work splitting this bag into 5 equal shares. I spent the whole evening making sure everyone got not only the same number of M&Ms, but the same number of each color. And then we took turns picking between the leftovers of each color that didn't divide evenly between 5 kids.
As I write this, I recall one Easter when I put together the candy and plastic eggs for the egg hunt. We each had a color of eggs to search for (so everyone got the same number of eggs in the end and so the eggs could be hidden age appropriately.) I made sure that everyone had equal amounts of the different kinds of candy....and equal amounts of the different shapes and colors of the candies as well.
I bet if I think hard enough, I'd come up with more examples of this. Maybe I should be tested for OCD?
