Grandparent's 65th Anniversary

This week Ryan and I had the opportunity to go to a celebration for my grandparents. My grandfather just turned 90 years old and my grandma and grandpa just had their 65th wedding anniversary. It amazes me that they have lived so long and are still in such great health. My grandfather can still drive and still lives at home. My grandmother is more fragile, but her mind is still there. Sometimes it can be difficult for me (and a lot of people too I think) to be around older people. Sometimes they can't hear you, they don't understand you, don't know what is going on, they'll say the same thing over and over. But not my grandparents. They are still very lucid. Ryan told my grandmother (as a bit of a joke) that he wishes her another 65 years of marriage. My grandma's eyes got big and she said, "oh I hope not!" She totally got the joke, thought it was funny, etc. I think a lot of 89 year olds would either nod and smile or something and wouldn't really comprehend it. My grandparents are awesome!!
