I was thinking today about how blessed Ryan and I are with the things that we had when we got married. It's really neat to have a lot of the things we have because one of us owned it before we got married.
I had a laptop computer (which sadly died almost 2 years ago, but it was great when we did have it.) Ryan had a desktop computer. I had a computer printer/scanner/copier.
Ryan had plates and dishes. I had pots and pans.
Ryan had a car and a house. I had things to decorate a house.
Ryan had a kitchen table. I had homework to put on the kitchen table.
We both had a ton of blankets - which is good because I love blankets.
Ryan had a couch and matching chair and a video projector and screen and end tables. I had a digital camera.
Ryan had bookshelves. I had books.
I think it worked out really well. We didn't get married and end up with 2 car payments, 2 kitchen tables (actually, we do have 2 kitchen tables - both Ryan's), 2 sets of pots and pans, 2 digital cameras, 2 video projectors, etc. Not only did we match as a couple, but our stuff matched too. The only thing we ended up with 2 of is all of the Weird Al CDs. But my brother happily took our duplicate copies.
