Each Sunday I plan to post a quote, thought, article, etc by various religious leaders in the world. I haven't decided yet what to call these posts. But I figure it would be fun to get a little more religious. I'm not too religous at the moment, but I don't mind hearing good Christian things every now and then. I figure each week could have a theme of sorts. This week's theme is about families.
This is a quote from Pope John Paul II.
"As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live."
This article is a study done about how family dynamics affects the sexual activity of teenagers. I found it very interesting.
This is a youtube clip about families by a leader in the LDS Church.
Something else I found interesting as I was looking for things to put in this post is that in the Bible, people were always organized by families. Families have always been an important part of society. It's an organizational system for rasing children, organizing communities, etc. And I personally think families are a great thing - when they are loving, caring families. Home is where so much is taught. And if you don't teach children what they need to learn at home, they might learn things outside of the home that you don't want them to. Conversely, if bad things are taught in the home, they carry through your whole life and affect a child's life as an adult. Raising a family is a great responsibility that isn't taken as seriously as it probably should. But I am very eager to be a mother someday. I hope to be an awesome one.
