Basements, Hula Hoops and Babies

Today I am going to do a complete overhaul of the basement. It is going to look so great when I am done. (I'm not getting into the storage rooms though - that's an entire week's worth of organizing and cleaning on its own.) I'm excited. I've bought several things to decorate the basement with and I haven't found places for them yet. So today is the day. My basement is going to rock!!!!

In other news, we bought Lily a hula hoop to teach her to jump through. It is clear that it isn't going to happen. She is absolutely scared of the thing. We wonder if she thinks that going through it will send her back in time or something. She wants nothing to do with the hoop. Silly dog. Oh well. It was only $1. I'll save it for my 3 year olds.

Speaking of three year olds...that is the age I'll be teaching this year. Last year was 4 and 5 year olds. The year before that was 8 and 9 year olds. Now it's 3s. I'm excited!!!!! I love getting a new age group every year. At this rate though, it is going to be infants next. Then again, maybe it will be. There is good possibility that this will be my last year of teaching for a while (if not forever - who knows). Ryan graduates in April and maybe a baby will shortly follow. We'll see. Maybe I'll get one more year of teaching in before a baby comes (or maybe half a year). It's kind of fun to think about how unpredictable it is. Either way - live for the present, right? Three year olds, here I come!!!!

  1. When you mentioned the hula hoop, I thought of when I was younger, about 7 years-old. I had three sizes--small, medium, even a large one about three or four feet in diameter--and I could do all of them. The biggest one was the hardest, of course, because I had to swing more hip than I had, but it was so fun. Cute puppy. Thanks for following my blog.

  2. By the way, I laughed when you talked about the dog being afraid because she might go "back in time". The posts you write are short and sweet, easy to read.
