Getting Closer

I have 10 weeks left til this little girl is due! It's so exciting. Forget about Halloween. Forget about my birthday next month and Ryan's the week after that and Thanksgiving the week after that. Forget about Christmas and our anniversary and New Years. All I am getting excited about is my baby. (And if you know me at all, you know I LOVE to get excited about holidays.) In 2 1/2 months (ish) I'm going to be a mom!!! It's so crazy to think about!! Ryan and I decided that a better term for "stay-at-home mom" or "homemaker" is "baby farmer" cuz that's exactly what I am. I get to grow and raise babies!!! Yay!!!

My last day of work was on Tuesday. I'm going to miss those kids. They are so cute and the funny things they say still make me laugh. (I'm going to have to make sure I do a good job of writing down the things my own kids say cuz I hate forgetting funny kid stuff.) It's also nice to not be working though. Being a full time baby farmer is what I've always wanted to be.

As far as baby news goes: It turns out I have gestational diabetes. (Thanks dad for your pancreas.) I have a 2 hour doctor appointment on Tuesday to learn how to monitor blood sugar, how this affects the pregnancy, etc, etc. A 2 hour doctor appointment! Ugh! I just had a 3 hour appointment for the glucose test! Sigh. At least I am a full time baby farmer and have the time for such long appointments. I'm not exactly excited about this diagnosis, but as long as I follow the doctor's instructions, the risks to me/baby are pretty minimal so that's good. (I shall miss you Snickers and Twix and Kit Kats) My favorite part about this diabetes stuff is that I get extra attention from doctors and such. Extra monitoring of me and baby sounds good to me.

Anyway...that's about all that's going on here. Lily is the same cute puppy as ever. And Ryan is working and then coming home to spend time with me like always.
