Wahoo!! I'm back on the blogger! Sorry for the long absence (assuming you even noticed). Honestly I just haven't had much to blog about lately. But I've got some ideas for some posts, so I should be able to post more often than I have been lately (which shouldn't be too hard).
Life is pretty good. Ryan is enjoying his free time now that he just has a 9-5 job instead of 9-5 job plus full time school. He's been spending a lot of time in the yard and with little projects around the house. Our basement bathroom is now fully functioning again. It's so nice to have a husband that can do all that fix-up stuff. My dad isn't like that at all and my mom knew going into her marriage that they would end up paying for other people to fix stuff around the house. Which is all fine and dandy and has worked out just fine for them. But I sure am glad Ryan can repair a window and a ceiling for super cheap.
Okay, so onto the actually topic of this post: I've decided that I have a pretty short attention span. I know I can hyper-focus on one thought for a long time but those are thoughts that loop through my head and not actual activities that I need to pay attention to. Here are some examples of what I am referring to:
*I can only clean the house for so long before I "have to take a break" or call it "good enough."
*I love to read but can rarely read for long periods of time.
*I don't even like long blog posts unless they are broken up into nice sections somehow.
*If a movie is more than 2 hours, I'm usually bored by the end.
*Even television (which I LOVE) I can only give my full attention to for about an hour before I have to do something else while I watch.
*I love to do crafts, but if they are going to take a long time, I often won't even start them because the thought of spending 2 hours or more on the one craft never appeals to me.
*I like to go to plays, but almost always about a halfway through I'm wishing it was over - but not because I don't like the play just because I'm ready to go.
So I guess my questions now are:
Is this normal? Is my attention span more normal than I am giving myself credit for?
How long is your attention span?
