Seven Things I Learned This Week-ish

Here are this week's 7 things (though it goes back a little farther than just the last week since I've missed a couple weeks of postings):

1) Wayne Brady is the voice of Clover on Sofia the First
2) In a contract, "consideration" means money
3) The Cardinals baseball team (and all Major League teams) draft from a specific minor league team.
4) A "liger" has a lion as a dad and a tiger as a mom while a "tigon" has a tiger as a dad and a lion as a mom.
5) Matthew Fox (Jack from Lost) was a main character in Party of Five
6) I am eligible for another 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime - I will be taking advantage of that for the next month.
7) OUR HOUSE IN PROVO IS SOLD AND NO LONGER OURS!! YIPPEE! FINALLY!!! AND GOOD RIDDANCE!

And a couple extras cuz it's been so long:
* I learned a little more about "order of adjectives" though I still want to do some more research and learn more about the topic
* I learned what the Lehi Library is like - awesome!
* I learned what songs are on the new Weird Al album.

  1. Technically, the term is "cash considerations," which makes the meaning readily apparant.

You really didn't know about the Minor League farm system before now?! How else would you expect teams to keep their players whenever they have to send them back down to AAA, or where they would play between the time they're drafted by their teams out of high school / college and when they're ready to join the Big Leagues? There are some independent minor league teams (such as the Rascals), but that's more the exception than the rule.

Actually, the Cardinals were the very first team to use a Minor League farm system back in the early 1920's, which gave them the equalizer they needed to start winning the World Series starting in 1926.
