My Biggest Pet Peeve

I have a lot of pet peeves. Most of them are tiny doesn't-really-matter sort of way. But there are a few really big pet peeves I have. And today, I am going to rant about my biggest pet peeve of them all!

DRUNK DRIVING!!!!!! AHHHH!!! I hate it so much. I don't understand how people can be so stupid as to drive under the influence. Hasn't everyone seen the Growing Pains episode?? Excusing like "I only had a little to drink" or "I felt fine to drive" are completely LAME to me. What do you want to bet that most drunk driving related accidents happen when people think they are "okay to drive"? Well guess what - you're not! I personally don't agree with driving after having ANY alcohol, but I can't argue too much if you are under the legal limit. And if you MIGHT be above the legal limit, do EVERYONE a favor and DON'T DRIVE!!! And if you ARE above the legal limit and you still drive, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!! Why why why do people put themselves and others at such a HUGE risk????? I watch a lot of daytime court TV and hear about all sorts of dumb things people do. I hate hearing about the people that get tickets for DUIs. Especially multiple tickets. I think the punishment for DUIs should be MUCH harsher. And if you are a repeat offender, TAKE AWAY THEIR LICENCE because they aren't going to listen otherwise. And getting one DUI means they've probably done it more than just the once when they were caught. I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!! I'm not a fan of people drinking alcohol AT ALL, but I understand that I am in the minority with that opinion and I can respect others right to drink RESPONSIBLY, but driving after drinking is NOT RESPONSIBLE!!!! Also...I HATE UNDERAGED DRINKING!! I won't rant about this one as much because its the driving that puts me and my family and everyone else at risk, not the act of drinking itself, but there are reasons that drinking under the age of 21 is illegal. And I feel like the punishments for underage drinking aren't harsh enough either. And it seems to me that society almost finds it acceptable and parents are sometimes the ones to give their minor child the alcohol. GRRR. It makes me MAD! And now that I'm a mom, I guess all this means I should get involved with MADD - mothers against drunk driving - because that is exactly what I am.

The End.
