Let's see...what have we been up to for the last week?
Ryan went back to work yesterday. He's had work off since Caroline came home. It's been really nice having him home. But now it's nice to start to settle into a routine. Ryan has also been fixing up our bathroom. He's put in a new vanity and all that's left is reconnecting the pipes which he'll do tonight.
I'm figuring out the whole stay-at-home mom thing and I love it. Monday is Laundry day. Tuesday is Grocery Shopping. Wednesday is deep cleaning. Thursday is Project day (crafts and such). And Friday is baking day. Plus there is all the daily stuff.
Caroline will be 2 months old tomorrow. She has a doctor's well visit on Thursday. I'm excited to see what she weighs now. She was exactly 7 pounds 2 weeks ago. She's still in newborn clothes and diapers. She's starting to stay awake a little more and look around a lot. She eats every 4 hours (so glad it's not every 2 or 3) We are still bottle feeding her pumped breastmilk and we may just stick with that. It takes so long to try and nurse her and then we still have to give her more from a bottle because nursing wears her out and then I have to pump. It's just faster and easier to bottle feed the pumped milk. We may revisit nursing when she's a little bigger, but the status quo is working well so why mess with it? One of my favorite things about bottles is she can eat more (because it's easier work) and can go 4 hours between feedings and we always know how much she eating. We chart her feedings and diapers like crazy, but it's so great to have that info and the peace of mind that comes with it.
Lily is getting used to Caroline. She'll whimper when Caroline is crying. She's still sleeping in our room, but we haven't minded, so again, why mess with the status quo?
Anyway...that's what's going on here.
