You Learn Something New Everyday

Here is this week's list of what I learned this week.

Sunday: Dr. Oz performed President Clinton's bypass surgery.

Monday: Burlington Coat Factory (at least the one in Orem, UT) sucks. Had never been there before and I thought it was quite dumpy.

Tuesday: The breast pump I just bought is tax deductible - how cool is that? (We may not qualify for that deduction if we make too much or something, but pumping supplies are tax deductible; we'll have to look into it to see if we qualify.

Wednesday: The "Jeopardy" writers think that the plural of "x" is "x's". For being such an intellectual show, I seem to find more errors than I should.

Thursday: Steven Baldwin is NOT in The Flintstones Movie. I grew up thinking he was. He's in the sequel but not the original one. How did I ever get Rick Moranis confused with Steven Baldwin. Silly me.

Friday: The chances of a woman naturally conceiving a child in any given month for a woman in her 20s is 50%, a woman in her 30s: 20% and a woman in her 40s: 5%.

Saturday: (I can't resist posting three things)
1) I figured out why my breast pump had not been working properly for the previous 24 hours. Took a lot of trial and error but I finally figured out which piece wasn't working. Yay for functioning equipment!
2) Broccoli Rabe is not a broccoli dish; it is an actual type of broccoli - and I learned that it is not spelled Rob.
3) I learned there is a magazine named "Duck" and it is all about how to care for your pet duck. There is also "Chicken", "Horse", and "Goat" magazines.

*Please note this is not an all encompassing list of what I have learned this week. It is simply one thing each day (with the exception of Saturday.)

  1. The Jeopardy writers aren't wrong in this case. It's disputed, but it is acceptable to use an apostrophe to form plurals of individual letters of the alphabet. It should definitely be used to avoid confusion in some cases ("i's" instead of "is").
