Family Update

It's Tuesday! That means a family update. So here we go:

Ryan: Ryan has been back at work for just over a week now. He came home his first day back and told me: I forgot how much I love my job. He's pretty happy these days (not that unhappy would ever have been used to describe him. He loves cuddling with Caroline and reading her stories last night. Last night Caroline convinced Ryan to read her 8 bedtime stories.

Me: I'm starting to find my groove with this stay-at-home mom thing. I love it! I'm still working on figuring out how to get everything done, but all is going well. I've been working on my stack of parenting/baby magazines this week. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to dent the pile.

Caroline: She is such a cutie! She weighed 7 pounds 14 oz at her doctor's appt on Thursday - double her birth weight! Yay! She looks around all the time and will follow Ryan and I with her eyes. She's even starting to play with toys a little. Today she had her first "real" bath (as opposed to a sponge bath) and she did pretty good. She got fussy near the end, but didn't seem to hate the experience. She's so tiny for her age and so strong for her size. It's kind of fun to see all the things she can do for being so small.

Lily: Lily is doing well. We're letting her sniff Caroline a little more. There's snow outside now so Lily has fun running around and nipping at the snow. She sleeps on any pile of clothes she can find. Last night I kicked her off of one of Caroline's blankets (she's not allowed on top of any of Caroline's things) and went straight for a shirt I had lying on the floor. Silly dog.
