So I got a wedding announcement in the mail today. It was the weirdest and most bizarre wedding announcement I have ever received. Basically, we don't know the people. We don't know the bride, the groom, the bride's parents or the groom's parents. Based on the return address, the groom (or the groom's parents) lives down the street from us. Not weird to send wedding announcements to your neighbors, right? But what if you have never met or even heard of these neighbors? That just makes it creepy and weird. I suspect that they just got out the ward directory and mailed an announcement to everyone in the ward. Use the ward directory to get addresses, but not addresses of strangers!!!! The directory is for church use only!!! Why would you send an announcement to people you don't know?? Every single one of my wedding announcements that was sent out went to people either I knew, Ryan knew, Ryan's parents knew or my parents knew. No strangers. No unknown neighbors that we've never met. No church members that you don't ever see.
Anyway...I'm done with my rant. I just wanted to complain about how creepy it is to get a wedding announcement for someone you have NO IDEA who they are and you know they don't know you either. Are you trying to get more people to attend the reception? Are you trying to get more presents out of people? Or are you just creepy??
