When Sparrows Fall

When Sparrows Fall by Meg Moseley is about a young widow of six young children named Miranda. Her pastor wants to move their entire congregation out of state and Miranda doesn't want to go. She hopes her pastor will leave her behind, but he threatens to publicize secrets about her family if she doesn't comply. When Miranda takes a tumble off the cliffs near her home, her estranged brother-in-law Jack comes to help with the kids while she recovers. Jack introduced Miranda's family to things unheard of for them - things like fiction books, Frosted Flakes, girls wearing pants. Miranda begins to question the religion her late husband and pastor has ingrained into her and starts to wonder how she can truly escape her pastor's control.

This story is absolutely adorable. The characters are very well developed, believable and likable. It's a story that shows that you can decide what you believe for yourself without anyone telling you what to do. It's a story about a mother trying to raise her six children by herself. It's a story about overcoming control from others. It's a story about family and love. It's a story with hidden secrets. It's a story about God's love for all of his fallen sparrows. I loved this book. It was fun, intelligent, shocking, suspenseful and very much an enjoyable read.

*I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review*
