So I have decided that I am addicted to Jack Weyland books. Every time I am at Deseret Industries I browse the book section for Jack Weyland. His books are sometimes cheesy, but I still like to read them. I went through my book collection today and made a list of the Jack Weyland books I have and which ones I don't. Here is what I discovered:
Of the 34 books, I own 23. Of the 11 that I do not own, I have read 6 of them. Of the 5 left that I have not read, 3 of them have been published in the last 2 years making them more expensive to buy. That just leaves 2. And I have never seen the missing two at DI or anywhere else. Before I started buying them all up I would borrow them from people and even those friends did not have "Jake" or "The Last of the Big-Time Spenders" - or at least I don't think they had them or else I probably would have borrowed them. Anyway...just thought it very interesting that I have so many Jack Weyland books. Tomorrow I am going to go back to DI and see if I can find any of my missing ones. One or two of them I have seen there before but I haven't bought them because I wasn't sure if I had them at home or not. So now that I know - YAY - I can get the books I need without wondering if I am wasting money on things I already have.
*Correction - I own 25 of the 34 - found two more at DI today (Monday)
I have a whole stack of them that I'm sending to DI! Hahaha! I've read them waaaaay too many times and I'm totally over it.
ReplyDeleteI think my parents gave me Lean On Me at some point long ago. it was a great book. I've read a few others of his-- Charlie is of course a classic!
ReplyDeletebut some of his recent stuff seems a little formulaic, I must say.
